Course Content
AVIRT (Active Violence Immediate Response Training) class is designed to prepare participants in the following areas:
Recognition of Active Violence
Better recognizing active violence by sound and sight.
Training to recognize distressing images and sounds that prepare you for active violence.
Response and Action
Training to respond with quick action to protect yourself and others.
Empowering people with effective training.
Learning active shooter response procedures.
Situational Awareness and Prevention
Learning to teach situational awareness.
Learning to control access to buildings.
Understanding the importance of: "If you see something, say something".
Emergency Medical Response
Bleeding control training and first aid kits.
CPR, AED, and First Aid Training.
Understanding that a person can bleed to death in as little as 3 minutes after a severe injury.
Training Logistics & Safety
Active participation and being ready to be active.
Use of weapon replicas or training tools only.
Real weapons are prohibited in the training environment.
